I am a food chemist and have a PhD in animal science. In my research, I deal with hygiene as well as residues and contaminants in farm animal husbandry and try to derive a direct practical benefit for farmers from my research. I am very interested in the small things: the different facets of microorganisms always fascinate me. Currently I coordinate projects dealing with milk and water quality hygiene in calf and dairy farming. Furthermore, it is a great pleasure for me to impart knowledge to the students of our university in lectures and tutorials.
